FusePoint – Latest Updates Recap

We’ve rolled out an exciting set of new web parts and updates to existing ones in FusePoint. Here’s a detailed look at what’s new and improved.

New Web Parts

Kudos Web Part

The FusePoint Kudos web part helps teams recognize accomplishments quickly and visibly.

  • Users can click the Kudos button to open a modal, select a colleague with a people picker, add a short message, and submit.
  • Kudos appear below as carousel cards showing:
    • Sender & recipient
    • Date (MM DD, YYYY)
    • Avatars
    • Message
    • A Like button powered by SharePoint

This feature makes peer recognition engaging and transparent.

Timeline Web Part

The FusePoint Timeline web part provides a clean way to display project milestones, historical events, or process steps on SharePoint pages.

  • Supports both vertical and horizontal layouts
  • Customizable colors
  • Highlights the current step

Perfect for roadmaps, onboarding flows, and historical overviews.

Likes Hero Web Part

The FusePoint Likes Hero web part lets you add a visually impactful Like button to your SharePoint pages.

  • A quick way to measure sentiment or engagement for announcements, campaigns, or content
  • Fully customizable styling, icons, and visibility options

Best used to highlight specific calls to action.

Updated Web Parts

Calendar

We’ve enhanced the Calendar web part with powerful new display options:

  • List views available in horizontal or vertical layouts
  • Ability to filter by upcoming events, past events, or current month events
  • Configurable number of items to display (default: 3, unlimited if null)
  • Events can be pulled directly from shared mailbox calendars
  • Clean design using theme colors as the background

These updates make the calendar more flexible and visually aligned with SharePoint.

Form Display

The Form Display web part now supports nearly all SharePoint field types.

  • Successfully tested: single line of text, date, yes/no, hyperlink, etc.
  • Limitations: certain field types (Lookup, Managed Metadata, Location, External Data) are not supported and clearly noted in documentation.
  • Improved delete functionality and clean rendering of field values (e.g., hyperlinks render as clickable links).

All limitations are documented and updated in the FusePoint guides.

Forum

The Forum web part now allows custom control of text and background colors for its buttons, giving teams greater flexibility in branding and styling discussions.

Tab Search

The Tab Search web part introduces a much-requested improvement:

  • An icon picker to easily select icons instead of typing their names
  • Updated documentation includes new GIFs and MP4 walkthroughs

This feature will serve as the standard for icon selection in future web parts.

Summary

With these additions and updates, FusePoint continues to evolve into a more powerful and user-friendly platform for SharePoint.

  • New Kudos, Timeline, and Likes Hero web parts boost engagement and visibility.
  • Updated Calendar, Form Display, Forum, and Tab Search web parts add flexibility, improved usability, and better documentation.

Stay tuned for more enhancements as we continue to improve the FusePoint experience.
