FusePoint Web Parts & API Permissions

Why Permissions Matter

Some FusePoint web parts and extensions require additional Microsoft Graph API permissions in order to function correctly. These permissions must be granted by a SharePoint Administrator via the Admin Center.

If the necessary consent is missing, the web part will display an error message:

“The web part requires additional consent from /_layouts/15/online/AdminHome.aspx#/webApiPermissionManagement. Please inform the SharePoint administrator(s).”

Testing & Troubleshooting

When testing or troubleshooting permission-related issues, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the SharePoint Admin Center and revoke a required permission.
  2. Clear the Graph token from your browser’s local storage.
  3. Refresh the page — you should now see the error message indicating missing consent.
  4. Restore the revoked permission and repeat the steps if needed.

This ensures admins can verify that error handling is working correctly.

Summary

  • Not all FusePoint web parts need Graph API permissions, but the ones listed above do.
  • Without the correct permissions, the web parts will display an error until the SharePoint Administrator grants consent.
  • Documentation has been updated so admins know what to configure before rollout.

By ensuring these permissions are set up, admins guarantee a seamless experience for all FusePoint users.
