FusePoint Fonts Extension Documentation

Type: webpart

Overview

The FusePoint Fonts Extension is a SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web part that enables users to upload and manage custom fonts within SharePoint.
It generates CSS for uploaded fonts and centralizes font storage, making it easy to apply branded typography consistently across site collections.

Recent updates also improve default folder handling and error feedback, ensuring smoother setup and fewer missing-folder issues.

Features

  • Custom Font Upload – Upload .ttf, .otf, and other supported font formats directly into SharePoint.
  • Automatic CSS Generation – Instantly generate @font-face CSS rules for uploaded fonts.
  • Font Folder Path Configuration – Set a specific SharePoint folder (e.g., /SiteAssets/Fonts) to store fonts.
  • Seamless Integration – Works smoothly within SharePoint’s existing content management and styling systems.
  • Improved Default Folder Handling – The default storage path for both images and fonts is now /SiteAssets to prevent folder-related errors.

How to Use

1. Upload Fonts

  • Click the file upload area to select font files from your device.
  • Supported formats: .ttf, .otf, and others.
  • Uploaded fonts appear in a list with an option to remove or replace them.

💡 Tip:
If you see a popup message saying the font folder doesn’t exist (as shown in the screenshot below), edit the web part and modify the folder path to a valid one such as /SiteAssets/Fonts.

The web part currently doesn’t automatically create folders. You may need to manually create them in SharePoint.

2. Generate CSS

  • Click the Generate CSS button.
  • The extension automatically creates the required @font-face CSS rules.
  • Copy and apply the generated CSS into SharePoint pages or your site’s global stylesheet to enable your fonts.

3. Define Font Folder Path

  • Set the destination folder where uploaded fonts will be stored.
  • Default path: /SiteAssets/Fonts
  • Ensure the folder exists and is accessible by your SharePoint site for styling.

✅ With the latest update, the extension now falls back to /SiteAssets by default—so even if /Fonts is missing, uploads will still work without errors.

4. Save Changes

  • Click the Save button to finalize your uploads and store the generated CSS/font references.
  • Your custom fonts are now ready for use across SharePoint pages and components.

Conclusion

The FusePoint Fonts Extension simplifies font management in SharePoint by providing centralized storage, automatic CSS generation, and flexible configuration.
With improved error handling and a default /SiteAssets fallback, it ensures a seamless and reliable experience for managing branded typography across your SharePoint environment.
