This enhanced version allows users to copy pages from one site to another, including between different site collections and subsites. Whether you need to replicate templates, migrate content, or standardize layouts across your SharePoint environment, this webpart streamlines the process.

How to Set Up

Adding the Web Part

  1. Edit the SharePoint page where you want to add this functionality
  2. Click "Add a Web Part" and search for FusePoint Copy Page
  3. Select the web part to add it to your page

Configuring Web Part Properties

In the settings panel on the right:

  • Label → Enter the title to display above the form (e.g., "Copy Page to Another Site")
  • Default Copy From → Optional: Enter a complete page URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.sharepoint.com/sites/source/SitePages/Template.aspx)
    • If provided, this pre-selects the source page for users
    • Supports cross-site URLs
  • Default Publish Status → Choose whether copied pages should be draft or published by default
  • Show Source Site Selector → Enable/disable the source site selection interface
  • Show Destination Site Selector → Enable/disable the destination site selection interface

How to Use

Basic Cross-Site Copying

  1. Select Source Site (if enabled):

    • Use the typeahead dropdown to find your source site
    • Or enter the site URL manually
    • The dropdown shows subsites of the current site by default
  2. Select Source Page:

    • Choose from available pages in the selected source site
    • Or use the pre-selected page if configured in webpart properties
  3. Enter New Page Name:

    • Type the name for the copied page (e.g., "Copied Template - Q2 2026")
    • This becomes both the filename and page title
  4. Select Destination Site (if enabled):

    • Use the typeahead dropdown to find your target site
    • Or enter the destination site URL manually
  5. Choose Publish Status:

    • Draft Mode: Copy as a draft for review and editing
    • Publish Mode: Copy and publish immediately
  6. Click Copy Page

  7. You'll be redirected to the newly created page


Important Notes

Permissions Requirements

  • You need Contribute or higher permissions on both the source and destination sites
  • You must have create page permissions on the destination site
  • The destination site's Site Pages library must be accessible

Site Selection Behavior

  • Source Site Dropdown: Shows subsites of the current site by default for quick selection
  • Manual URL Entry: Available for both source and destination when you need to access sites outside the current hierarchy
  • Typeahead Search: Searches across sites you have permission to access

Page Name Guidelines

  • Keep names short and descriptive
  • Avoid special characters: # % & * : < > ? / \ { | } ~
  • If the page name already exists in the destination, you'll need to choose a different name
  • The name becomes both the file name (in Site Pages) and the page title
